Business Analyst — KYC Automation - Freelance

Daily rate: 650€-725€

Context

A major player in the life insurance sector is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join its Business Change & Monitoring team (10 people: actuaries, BAs, testers).

The mission focuses on the automation and digitalization of AML/KYC processes, within a regulated environment combining individual and collective life insurance products.

You will work at the intersection of Business, IT, Compliance and Operations — translating regulatory and business needs into actionable requirements, without writing technical specs yourself.

Responsibilities

Analysis

• Analyze existing KYC processes and associated data flows

• Define and formalize requirements according to established quality standards

• Identify process and data impacts of KYC workflows

• Bridge the gap between business stakeholders and IT teams

Testing

• Prepare and execute process and calculation tests

Monitoring

• Act as the main interface between business and IT

• Provide regular progress reporting to stakeholders

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams: IT, Operations, Business, Distribution, Compliance

Required Profile

KYC / AML Expertise

• Strong understanding of KYC and AML regulatory obligations in a life insurance context

• Hands-on experience with identity verification processes and recertification triggers

Process & Business Analysis

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in life insurance or banking

• Proficiency in at least one business/process analysis methodology

• Ability to map, challenge, and improve existing KYC processes

• Capable of translating business needs into language IT teams can act on — without writing technical specs

IT & Data Fluency

• Comfortable with data constraints and data quality issues

• Familiar with service-oriented architectures (APIs, microservices)

• Understanding of automation solutions and their implementation context

Interpersonal & Soft Skills

• Clear, structured communication across Business, IT, and Compliance

• Experience facilitating co-creation workshops and requirement-gathering sessions

• Autonomous, proactive, rigorous — can-do attitude

• Strong adaptability and commitment to deadlines

Languages

• French: Professional working proficiency

• English: Full professional proficiency

• Dutch: Asset (limited working proficiency accepted)

Education

• University degree in mathematics or equivalent by experience
