Senior Data Engineer Azure / Databricks Consultant | Brussels - Freelance

For one of our clients in the non-profit sector, we are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer Azure & Databricks Consultant to support a critical data platform during a period of transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the continuity, stability and performance of the existing Azure data platform.

• Take ownership of critical technical responsibilities within the Reporting & Analytics team.

• Design, optimize and maintain scalable data solutions using Azure and Databricks.

• Develop and improve cloud-based data pipelines and ETL processes.

• Support knowledge transfer, onboarding activities and the transition towards a long-term support model.

• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive data-driven decision making.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer within Azure environments.

• Strong expertise with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure SQL.

• Hands-on experience building and maintaining cloud data pipelines and modern data platforms.

• Solid knowledge of Python, SQL and data modelling concepts.

• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and/or ARM templates.

• Good understanding of DevOps, CI/CD practices and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Ability to communicate complex technical topics to business stakeholders.

• Autonomous, proactive and service-oriented mindset.

• Fluent English is required.
