Cybersecurity Project Manager - Lisbon (long-term assignment) - CDI

Work model: Hybrid, 3 days per week on site

Start date: Early September (October also possible)

Duration: Long-term assignment, around 3 years

Contract: Permanent employment contract (contrato sem termo) with a Portuguese consulting firm, a local partner company that will hire you to start the assignment.

Language: English, fluent or bilingual

Open to IT and OT Project Managers

Prior cybersecurity experience is a plus, not a requirement. If you have solid project management experience in an IT or OT environment and you want to move into cybersecurity, this role is open to you.

About the role

You will manage a range of cybersecurity initiatives and ensure they meet both technical and functional requirements. You will take part in internal governance bodies and work closely with other Group cybersecurity teams, local cybersecurity teams and support functions such as legal and procurement.

The assignment is built for the long run: a roadmap of around three years that lets you take real ownership of a project portfolio, build lasting relationships with your stakeholders, and see initiatives through from scoping to steady state instead of handing them over mid-flight.

Types of projects

• Deployment of cybersecurity solutions and tools

• Remediation and action plans following audits or penetration tests

• Integration of security into major IT and OT projects

What you will do

• Lead cybersecurity projects from scoping to delivery, including objectives, scope and risk assessment

• Apply project management best practices in planning, budgeting, quality and communication

• Coordinate stakeholders across business units, IT, OT, cybersecurity teams, vendors and service providers

• Track deliverables and report regularly: run project committees, contribute to steering committees, maintain project portfolio tools

• Ensure compliance with internal security standards and applicable regulations such as NIS2 and GDPR

• Manage project budgets and monitor financial performance

• Run end-to-end RFI and RFP processes for cybersecurity solutions

• Support the renewal of security solutions together with the cybersecurity teams and the procurement department

What we are looking for

• Master's degree

• At least 3 years of experience in project management, in a cybersecurity, IT or OT environment

• Expert level in project management

• Expert level in reporting, KPIs and PMO

• Advanced IT fundamentals

• Advanced cybersecurity fundamentals, or a genuine willingness to ramp up

• Fluent or bilingual English

• Experience working for a consulting firm is appreciated

Soft skills

• Strong communication skills with executive, technical and operational stakeholders

• Ability to translate complex cybersecurity and IT topics into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences

• High level of autonomy and proactivity, with a strong sense of ownership

• Team-oriented mindset across IT, cybersecurity, business units and external partners

• Strong learning mindset in a fast-evolving cybersecurity environment

How the engagement works

You join as a consultant on a long-term assignment. You are hired on a permanent employment contract (contrato sem termo) by a Portuguese consulting firm, our local partner, which employs you for the duration of the assignment. The details of the setup are discussed during the recruitment process.
