Service Context

Over the last decade, AXA has been committed to making public cloud its primary hosting platform. Following the successful transition from Private IaaS to cloud and the ongoing rollout of the Exit Core IT initiative (part of the ATLAS program), AXA has significantly increased its investment in public cloud solutions to make it the main application hosting platform.

The Cloud Business Unit has played a crucial role in this transformation and now aims to restructure its products and expertise to continue supporting AXA in its cloud journey.

By consolidating expertise in DevOps platforms and tools, the aim is to offer an enhanced experience in CI/CD, Developer Experience, and Compliance. This ambition is key to driving AXA's development towards a new level of maturity.

Service Description

As a Senior Software Engineer supporting the GHES platform and SDLC backbone, you will be responsible for developing enterprise features, automations, and integrations that enhance platform capabilities and reliability. You will be integrated in an agile (SCRUM, SAFE) environment, promoting a culture of trust, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Service Deliverables

• Designing, developing, and maintaining infrastructure automation using Terraform and Ansible

• Mentoring a team of SREs and engineers to ensure platform reliability, security, and scalability

• Driving automation and incident management processes aligned with SRE principles

• Contributing to the evolution of the SDLC backbone to meet business, governance, and operational requirements

• Collaborating with stakeholders across teams to improve development practices, security, and compliance

Software Engineering & Feature Delivery: Proven expertise in developing enterprise-grade features, APIs, or automation tools in a cloud or enterprise environment

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Deep expertise in Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure deployment and configuration management

Monitoring & Incident Management: Strong knowledge of monitoring systems, alerting, and incident management processes

System Architecture: Designing and optimizing scalable, secure, compliant and resilient architectures

DevSecOps & CI/CD: Practical expertise with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment strategies

Technical Expertise

GitHub Enterprise Server (GHES): Strong working expertise of GHES management, deployment, and features

Cloud Platforms: Expertise of cloud providers such as Azure or AWS, especially in the context of hybrid or data-residency solutions

Governance & Data Residency: Expertise of enterprise data residency, security, and compliance considerations

Languages & Tools: Proficiency with scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) and familiarity with relevant tools for automation (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and monitoring

Jira and Confluence: Expertise with Jira for project management and Confluence for documentation and collaboration

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical expertise to diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions

Qualifications

• 5 to 7+ years of professional expertise in software engineering, DevOps, or platform development, with a track record of delivering enterprise features

• Deep technical expertise in automation, platform development, and operational support

• Agile methodologies (SCRUM, SAFE)

• Expertise in implementing and supporting scalable SDLC tools and frameworks

• Expertise of compliance, security, and governance requirements within large organizations
