We're currently seeking a Data Engineer to join a leading Belgian company on a long-term renewable freelance assignment.

📍 Location: Charleroi, Belgium
🏠 Hybrid: Minimum 2 days/week onsite

🎯 Your Mission

As part of a Data Factory team, you'll contribute to the development, maintenance, and evolution of a modern Azure & Microsoft Fabric data platform.

💡 Key Responsibilities

✅ Develop data ingestion pipelines using Microsoft Fabric Data Factory

✅ Build and maintain data transformation processes through Fabric Notebooks

✅ Optimize queries and data processing performance while controlling Azure costs

✅ Design and implement Lakehouse architectures

✅ Define and deploy Medallion Architecture (Silver & Gold layers)

✅ Create and execute automated unit tests

✅ Participate in solution design and development effort estimations

✅ Produce and maintain technical documentation

✅ Support production environments and incident resolution

✅ Contribute to continuous improvement and development best practices

✔️ Proven experience as a Data Engineer

✔️ Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric

✔️ Good understanding of Azure Data Factory

✔️ Experience building scalable data pipelines and modern data platforms

✔️ Comfortable with architecture, optimization, testing, and production support

✔️ Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills

✔️ Fluent in French and/or English

✔️ Able to work regularly onsite in Gosselies

🚗 A driving licence and personal vehicle are strongly preferred.
