Unisys MCP / ALGOL Developer - Freelance

Location: Brussels – Hybrid

We are looking for technical profiles with experience in:

• Unisys – MCP platform

• ALGOL programming language

Context

We are seeking experienced technical profiles to support the maintenance, evolution, and support of critical legacy applications running on the Unisys MCP platform and developed in ALGOL.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications in ALGOL on Unisys MCP.

• Analyze functional and technical requirements.

• Design, code, test, and document technical solutions.

• Perform unit, integration, and acceptance testing.

• Troubleshoot and support production issues.

• Optimize and improve existing legacy applications.

• Collaborate with business teams, architects, DBAs, and operations teams.

• Maintain technical documentation.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with the Unisys MCP platform.

• Strong experience in ALGOL programming.

• Knowledge of MCP utilities and environments such as CANDE, WFL, DMSII, COMS, TIP, etc.

• Good understanding of DMSII and/or SQL databases.

• Experience working with legacy systems and critical environments.

• Technical English.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of COBOL, Pascal, C, or shell scripting.

• Experience with Unisys ClearPath / Libra / Dorado / A-Series.

• ITIL knowledge, version control, or DevOps practices for legacy environments.

• Experience in banking, insurance, or public sector.
