Context
A leading life insurance company in Belgium is seeking a Life Insurance Business Analyst to join the Business Change & Monitoring team within the Life Insurance division. This team of 10 people—Actuaries, Business Analysts, and Testers—supports portfolio migration and commercial development projects.
This position is strictly a Business Analyst role focused on business process analysis, regulatory interpretation, KYC optimisation, and bridging business with IT. It does not involve writing technical specifications or performing system-level functional design.
Missions
- Analyse and challenge existing KYC processes and data management practices.
- Define and formalise business requirements according to the company’s quality standards.
- Identify process, data, and operational impacts related to KYC/AML obligations.
- Ensure clear understanding between Business, Compliance, Operations, and IT.
- Translate business needs into conceptual requirements, without producing technical specifications or system design documents.
- Prepare and execute business process tests and calculation validations.
- Support UAT by ensuring that implemented solutions meet business expectations, without performing functional system analysis.
- Act as a business intermediary, ensuring alignment between business teams and IT delivery teams.
- Provide regular reporting on progress and risks.
- Facilitate collaboration with stakeholders (IT, Operations, Business, Distribution, Compliance).
- Build trustful relationships with internal clients and external partners.
Tools & Environment
- Business/process analysis methodologies.
- Knowledge of life insurance contract lifecycle and value chain.
- Understanding of KYC/AML regulatory obligations in life insurance.
- Familiarity with identity verification processes and risk-based approaches.
- Awareness of data constraints and data quality considerations.
- Understanding of service-oriented architectures (APIs, microservices) from a business impact perspective.
- Understanding of automation solutions and their business applicability.
- Workshop facilitation and co-creation sessions.
Working Conditions

- Education: University degree in mathematics or equivalent experience
- Role focus: Business process analysis, regulatory interpretation, and business-driven KYC optimisation (not functional analysis or technical specification writing)
