Context
We are looking for an Operational Endpoint Engineer to join our team. You will be part of a 10-person team managing the full lifecycle, support, and improvement of endpoints across a leading energy infrastructure company. You ensure devices are delivered, maintained, and tracked efficiently across a fleet of around 3,000 endpoints for 1,500 users. The role combines hands-on staging and lifecycle management with troubleshooting and direct user support.
Missions
- Handle tickets (incidents and requests) assigned to the team, with a focus on device lifecycle issues.
- Troubleshoot software (OS) and hardware-related issues and document the taken steps.
- Coordinate the repairs of hardware issues with vendors.
- Act as a clear, patient, and service-minded contact point for internal customers.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers while building your own troubleshooting skills.
- Perform staging of physical and virtual endpoints.
- Keep staging procedures up to date and aligned with team standards.
- Contribute to a smooth and predictable onboarding experience for new joiners.
- Manage returned equipment, assess its condition, and determine the appropriate next action (repair, redeployment, or retirement).
- Carry out secure data erasure procedures on returned devices.
- Coordinate with a third-party broker for device repairs, disposal, and warranty management.
- Update asset status in the CMDB accurately and consistently across all lifecycle stages.
- Manage returns to suppliers and track the resolution of related cases.
- Monitor stock levels and initiate orders via the administrative team when predefined thresholds are reached.
- Maintain a clean, well-organized, and efficient staging environment.
- Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and shared team knowledge.
- Proactively identify and suggest process improvements based on daily operations.
Technical Skills
- Strong foundation in Windows (3+ years) with practical experience in endpoint troubleshooting, imaging, and provisioning.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and support expertise in PC hardware and peripherals.
- Practical knowledge of asset management, CMDB best practices, and lifecycle tracking for large-scale device fleets.
- Familiarity with SCCM-based staging and/or Intune. Autopilot provisioning is a plus.
- Basic proficiency in PowerShell, or a strong willingness to build expertise in this area.
Communication Skills
- Languages: fluent in Dutch or French and English.
Personal Skills
- Strong organizational skills and excellent follow-up — you close loops and don’t let things slip.
- Service-minded team player, comfortable with users and supplier contacts.
- Curious and willing to learn the broader endpoint stack over time.
