Profile description – Senior Network Security Engineer

Context and objective of the mission

The mission takes place within a network team responsible for the setup, security and operations of the network used for a wide range of services in industrial and office environments. The team works across several European locations and is involved in multiple projects, including setting up connectivity in new data centres, securing and connecting to the cloud, modernising the WAN network, and supporting functional evolutions requested by application teams.

Timing and place

• Place of mission: split between Brussels and Anderlecht
• Start date: as soon as possible
• Initial duration: 1 year, renewable
• Work arrangement: full time in the office during the first three months; after this period, hybrid work is possible with 3 days on-premises and 2 days flexible, subject to work constraints

Main responsibilities

• Operate within a team supporting company activities running 24/7
• Work in both IT and OT environments with strong diligence in preparing and executing changes
• Participate in the deployment and maintenance of IT systems
• Support colleagues in Belgium and other parts of Europe
• Contribute across different networking domains including routing, switching and software-related topics

Profile required

General skills

• Must master Dutch or French and be fluent in English
• Ability to work closely with other ICT teams
• Team player with the ability to work independently
• Readiness to support teammates
• Own car required
• Ability to travel to Belgian locations when required
• Background in computer science
• Openness to taking part in a standby role (maximum 1 week in 4)

Technical skills

• Understanding of firewall technologies
• In-depth knowledge of routing and switching protocols including OSPF, ISIS, MP-BGP and MST
• Experience with cloud technologies
• Experience with Cisco Wireless
• Experience with Python and/or Ansible for automation
• Knowledge of backend tools for monitoring, NAC and central syslog
• Familiarity with TACACS and RADIUS servers
• Knowledge of ACI or Cisco SDWAN is a plus

Technical environment

The environment covers the full network stack from LAN to WAN and from the data centre to the cloud, across both IT and OT contexts, in a mostly Cisco-based environment. Technologies mentioned include:

Compétences / Qualités indispensables :

Network security, Routing and switching protocols, Cisco network environment, Python/Ansible automation, Cloud technologies, English plus Dutch or French

Compétences / Qualités qui seraient un + :

Knowledge of ACI or Cisco SDWAN
