Senior Product Manager Payment - Freelance

Mission Context

Our client, an international digital company with a strong product culture, is looking for a Senior Product Manager Payment to support and strengthen its payment team.

The team operates in a demanding environment, with many internal stakeholders, a high volume of incoming requests, and significant rationalization challenges. The mission therefore requires a senior profile who is autonomous, structured, and able to prioritize effectively in a fast-moving context.

The assignment is expected to start in September, with an estimated workload of around 3 days per week.

Mission Objectives

The Senior Product Manager will mainly work on payment-related topics, with a strong focus on product management, discovery, cross-functional coordination, and roadmap preparation.

Success in this role will depend on the ability to:

• quickly take ownership of payment-related topics;

• understand key challenges linked to PSPs and existing payment solutions;

• structure and prioritize incoming requests;

• conduct investigations with the right stakeholders;

• prepare decision-making materials for product and engineering leadership;

• organize and prioritize the backlog;

• contribute to the preparation of roadmap days.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead product initiatives related to payments, involving several payment solutions and partners.

• Work with PSPs and understand the key interactions within the payment ecosystem.

• Run discovery phases on payment flow optimization topics.

• Manage cross-functional projects involving multiple internal stakeholders.

• Structure, prioritize, and rationalize requests coming from different teams.

• Prepare the necessary materials for discussions with product, engineering, and executive leadership.

• Organize the backlog and contribute to roadmap preparation.

• Collaborate closely with the engineering team.

• Produce communication and reporting materials to ensure proper follow-up.

• Ask the right questions, investigate topics thoroughly, and clarify key challenges before escalation or decision-making.

• Optimization of payment flows linked to existing payment solutions.

• Follow-up on tests around new payment rails or payment operators.

• Topics related to deposits and internal payment flows.

• Projects linked to subscriptions or subscription models in specific countries.

• Preparation and structuring of topics for roadmap days.

Target Environment

Experience in a digital, startup, or scale-up environment is strongly appreciated. A profile coming only from a traditional banking environment may be less suitable, unless they can demonstrate a strong product and digital culture.

Mission Details

• Start date: September.

• Workload: 3 days per week.

• Location: Paris

• On-site presence: around 2 days per week in the office, especially at the beginning or during key moments.

• Language: fluent English required.
