Our client in the Energy & Utilities sector is seeking a seasoned SAP Project Manager to lead a transformation initiative leveraging SAP Data Management and Landscape Transformation (DMLT) and/or System Landscape Optimization (SLO) services. This is a senior, hands-on delivery role with high visibility and stringent stakeholder expectations.

About the role

You will own end-to-end project delivery for an SAP transformation that relies explicitly on SAP DMLT/SLO services (e.g., selective data transition, carve-out, merger/split, or landscape consolidation scenarios). You will orchestrate SAP (or partner) DMLT/SLO workstreams, align business and IT stakeholders, manage scope/risk/timeline/budget, and drive the program through testing, cutover, and hypercare. Only candidates with direct, proven Project Management leadership on a DMLT/SLO engagement will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full project lifecycle for an SAP DMLT/SLO-driven transformation, from initiation to hypercare.

• Coordinate and govern work across SAP/partner DMLT/SLO teams, internal IT, integrators, and business units.

• Shape and validate the transformation approach (e.g., selective data transition, carve-out), scope, and milestones.

• Own the integrated plan, RAID log, budget tracking, change management, and executive reporting.

• Direct testing strategy (SIT/UAT), migration rehearsals, cutover orchestration, and stabilization.

• Ensure data quality, compliance, and audit-readiness across migration and transformation activities.

• Manage stakeholder alignment across business functions; translate complex SAP topics for non-technical leaders.

• Drive decision-making, manage dependencies with parallel SAP initiatives (e.g., S/4HANA), and enforce delivery discipline.

Required experience and skills (must-have)

• Demonstrable success as Project Manager on at least one end-to-end project where SAP DMLT and/or SLO services were used. This criterion is absolute; profiles without this experience will not be considered.

• 8+ years of IT Project/Program Management, including complex SAP transformation or migration programs.

• Strong command of SAP transformation patterns involving DMLT/SLO (e.g., selective data transition, carve-out, M&A-related restructurings, landscape consolidation).

• Proven vendor and stakeholder management with SAP or certified DMLT/SLO partners; confident executive-level communication.

• Solid delivery governance: planning, risk/issue control, dependency and scope management, financial tracking, and steering committee reporting.

• Hybrid working capability with physical presence in Brussels 2–3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in Energy & Utilities or other asset-intensive, regulated industries.

• Familiarity with S/4HANA programs, data migration tooling and rehearsal planning, and cutover/hypercare playbooks.

• Exposure to compliance, data privacy, and audit requirements in large-scale SAP changes.
