Strategic Procurement Lead - Major CAPEX Projects - Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Procurement Lead to support the development and execution of major construction and industrial CAPEX projects. This is a strategic, project-focused role, not a traditional Senior Buyer or Procurement Manager position.

The successful candidate will bring substantial construction-project experience, ideally gained on projects valued at €500M or more, and will have played a direct role in shaping procurement and contracting strategies at the project level from the earliest stages.

You will be responsible for defining how major construction scopes are structured, sourced, contracted, and commercially managed. This role requires a strategic thinker who can influence key project decisions and remain actively involved throughout the project's execution.

The Role

Working closely with Project Directors, Construction Managers, Engineering, EPC/EPCM partners, Legal and Finance, you will help define the commercial and contractual framework for our largest projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing project-level procurement and contracting strategies from the initial concept and feasibility stages.

• Defining packaging strategies, sourcing models, and appropriate commercial approaches for complex scopes of work.

• Contributing to contractor selection and EPC/EPCM engagement strategies.

• Establishing suitable risk-allocation principles and contractual frameworks to protect the project's interests.

• Structuring and commercially managing multiple complex construction packages simultaneously.

• Supporting commercial and contract management throughout project execution—not only during tendering and award.

• Identifying and managing commercial, contractual, and delivery risks across the project lifecycle.

• Challenging project assumptions and influencing how the project is structured and delivered.

• Collaborating seamlessly across project, construction, engineering, procurement, legal, and finance functions.

• Managing senior-level relationships with major contractors and project partners.
