Scale-up / Unicorn – International Environment

Context

This fast-growing international e-commerce scale-up is entering a new phase of industrialisation and global expansion. Several company-level technical programs are being launched to support scale, efficiency and international growth.

The role sits at the intersection of Engineering, Product, Data and Business, with a strong focus on execution, alignment and impact.

Three strategic initiatives currently structure the scope:

• AI at Work: a company-wide program to centralise, industrialise and scale the use of AI across Engineering, Operations, Product and Business teams.

• Engineering Operations Excellence: improving delivery performance, quality, reliability and engineering workflows at scale.

• [Upcoming] Multi-Language Program: a cross-team initiative to enable multi-language product and platform capabilities for non-EU markets, with deep impacts on architecture, product and organisation.

As a Technical Program Manager, you act as the technical orchestrator, ensuring clarity, prioritisation, alignment and execution across high-impact initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Cross-Functional Program Leadership

• Lead complex, multi-team technical programs involving Engineering, Platform, Data, Product and Operations.

• Define program vision, objectives, roadmaps, milestones and success metrics.

• Drive alignment, manage dependencies and ensure end-to-end execution.

• Act as the single point of ownership for program delivery and outcomes.

“AI at Work” Program

• Structure and drive a transversal AI program (use-case identification, prioritisation, governance).

• Coordinate technical and business teams to move AI use cases from experimentation to industrialised production.

• Define and track impact metrics (adoption, operational gains, quality, time saved, ROI).

• Ensure scalability, consistency and long-term maintainability of AI initiatives.

Engineering Operations Optimisation

• Partner closely with Engineering leadership to improve delivery performance and operational efficiency.

• Drive improvements across SDLC, CI/CD, release processes, incident management and post-mortems.

• Identify systemic bottlenecks and friction points; translate them into concrete, actionable improvement plans.

• Support teams in scaling without compromising quality or reliability.

Governance, Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Establish clear program governance: rituals, reporting, KPIs and decision frameworks.

• Provide clear, structured and decision-oriented reporting to senior leadership.

• Act as a bridge between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

• Facilitate alignment in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement

• Proactively identify technical, organisational and delivery risks.

• Define mitigation plans and ensure follow-through.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of delivery and execution practices across the organisation.

Profile

• 7+ years of experience in technical program or large-scale project management.

• Proven experience as a Technical Program Manager in a scale-up or unicorn (non-negotiable).

• Strong understanding of modern cloud architectures, technical platforms and distributed systems.

• Comfortable operating in complex engineering environments (microservices, CI/CD, data platforms, product-centric teams).

• Demonstrated ability to lead multiple high-impact initiatives in parallel.

• Exceptional communication, coordination and decision-making skills.

• Fluent English required (international environment).

• Able to challenge, structure and drive progress without direct hierarchical authority.

• Highly autonomous, pragmatic and outcome-oriented.
