Location: Spain (North), with occasional travel within Europe
Start: January 2027 ·
Duration: long-term, visibility through 2027 ·
Workload: full time (4 to 5 days/week)
Languages: fluent Spanish and English required; Portuguese and/or French a plus
Context
European B2B distributor, operating in around ten countries with roughly one million active SKUs.
The group has designed a new Target Operating Model for its product master data, built on three pillars: around twenty standardised processes shared by all countries, a target architecture centred on a market-leading PIM, and a new organisation combining a European shared service centre with local MDM teams.
The programme is now being rolled out country by country. The Spain & Portugal rollout is already well under way and is currently led by the European MDM Manager, who wants to hand it over to a dedicated project manager.
This is a delivery role, not a data governance or operating model consulting role. The client needs a senior PM who can take over a project in flight, accelerate execution and drive it through to completion.
Assignment
Reporting to the European MDM Manager and working as a true partner to her, you will own the Spain & Portugal rollout from scoping through go-live and adoption:
Project management: take over and refine the existing deployment plan, run it day to day (milestones, risks, dependencies, budget) and proactively remove roadblocks.
Processes: deploy the standard article data processes locally (supplier onboarding, enrichment, hazardous goods, pricing, product hierarchy, end of life) and lead gap analyses against local practices.
Tooling: coordinate the PIM, supplier portal and local ERP integrations, as well as data quality dashboards, working with IT and integrators through testing, cutover and go-live support.
Organisation & change: support the local MDM team's alignment with the European model, the introduction of new roles and governance bodies, and training and adoption by business teams.
Reporting & leadership: prepare Steering Committee and executive presentations, report progress to the European programme, and coach less senior profiles (junior project lead, BA, Change Manager).
Key stakeholders: local business functions (purchasing, category management, pricing, supply chain), the local MDM team, local and European IT, integrators and the central MDM team.
