WikiWriters is looking for an experienced Wikipedia writer to join our team on a freelance basis. You'll work on Wikipedia page creation and article improvement projects for individuals, businesses, authors, and organisations, helping clients build an accurate, guideline-compliant presence on Wikipedia.
Responsibilities
Conduct notability assessments to determine whether a subject meets Wikipedia's criteria before writing begins
Research reliable, independent, secondary sources to support article content
Draft new Wikipedia articles in a neutral, encyclopedic tone, free of promotional language
Edit and improve existing Wikipedia pages, correcting inaccuracies and outdated information
Format citations, references, and infoboxes correctly using Wikipedia's markup and style guidelines
Submit drafts through the appropriate review process and respond to reviewer feedback
Monitor published pages for accuracy and help resolve disputes or vandalism when needed
Disclose paid editing status in line with Wikipedia's Terms of Use
Requirements
An active Wikipedia editor account with a visible contribution and edit history
Demonstrated experience creating or significantly editing live Wikipedia articles
Strong understanding of Wikipedia's core policies: notability, verifiability, neutral point of view, and conflict of interest
Excellent research and writing skills, with close attention to sourcing
Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
Comfortable communicating with clients about realistic outcomes, including when a subject does not meet notability standards
