Job Description

As a Service Project Engineer, you will contribute to the success of our projects by coordinating operational, administrative, and documentation activities throughout the entire project lifecycle.

As a key partner to field teams, Project Managers, and Technical Coordinators, you will support project execution by ensuring effective communication, adherence to schedules, accurate project data management, and performance tracking.

You will be assigned to the Steam Generator Business Unit and will primarily support activities related to the primary side of Steam Generators.Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will work on French nuclear power plant sites (approximately 50% of the time), at the office (30%), and remotely when required (20%).You will also have the opportunity to contribute to Westinghouse projects throughout France and internationally.

This position has a strong operational focus and is designed as a development opportunity toward future responsibilities as a Site Manager (Construction Manager) or Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination and Monitoring

Perform operational tasks on-site to develop a solid technical understanding of project activities.Contribute to lessons learned and the sharing of best practices across the organization.

Coordinate operational activities at nuclear power plants in support of the Site Manager.Assist the Project Manager in the preparation, planning, execution, and close-out of projects.

Ensure coordination between operational teams, support functions, suppliers, and customers.

Prepare and facilitate project follow-up meetings, issue meeting minutes, and ensure action tracking.

Participate in identifying opportunities to improve project management processes and tools.Support lessons learned initiatives and the sharing of best practices within the organization.

Continuously develop project management skills in preparation for increased project leadership responsibilities.

Administrative and Document ManagementCreate, organize, and maintain project files within internal management systems and tools.

Ensure proper management and archiving of contractual, technical, and financial project documentation.

Support the preparation of project reviews and progress reports.

Financial Management and Project Controls

Participate in monitoring project costs, revenues, and financial performance indicators.

Track contractual milestones and invoicing schedules.Contribute to financial forecasting activities and variance analysis between budgets, actual costs, and forecasts.Identify and record financial impacts resulting from additional work, scope changes, or customer requests.

Support gross margin monitoring and recommend corrective actions when necessary.

Procurement and Subcontract Management

Prepare and track purchase requisitions in coordination with technical teams and procurement departments.Ensure administrative follow-up of supplier and subcontractor purchase orders.

Participate in supplier consultations and bid evaluations when required.

Communication and Customer Relations

Maintain regular and professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Prepare communication materials and project reports for management and customers.

Support Project Managers during negotiations with customers and business partners.

Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with customers, suppliers, and project teams.

Candidate Profile

Education

Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, Engineering degree, or equivalent in one of the following fields:Project Management Industrial Engineering Mechanical Engineering Energy Engineering Nuclear Engineering

Experience1 to 3 years of experience in an industrial, technical, or project management environment.

Initial experience in project coordination, planning, project controls, or project support is preferred.

Experience in the nuclear, energy, engineering, or construction industries is considered a strong asset.

Understanding of project financial performance drivers.

Ability to analyze financial data and contribute to forecasting activities.

Good understanding of costs, revenues, gross margin, and profitability concepts.

Tools and SystemsProficiency in Microsoft Office applications (advanced Excel skills are an asset).

Knowledge of SAP or a similar ERP system.

Experience with project planning tools such as Primavera, Microsoft Project, or equivalent is considered an advantage.
