Senior Data Technical Analyst – ETL & Data Lineage - Freelance

Context

As part of the O2 Programme, we are looking for a Senior Data Technical Analyst / Data Lineage Expert to support the analysis and documentation of existing data flows.

The objective is to reconstruct and formalise technical lineage across legacy systems, ETL processes, databases and reporting solutions, providing O2 teams with reliable technical documentation to support architecture and migration activities.

Main responsibilities

• Analyse existing ETL/ELT processes and data flows.

• Reconstruct end-to-end technical Data Lineage.

• Identify sources, transformations, dependencies and target systems.

• Analyse SQL, database objects and transformation logic.

• Collect and consolidate technical metadata.

• Identify gaps and inconsistencies in existing documentation.

• Work with country and central technical teams to clarify data flows.

• Produce structured technical lineage and mapping documentation.

• Use Python and automation where relevant to accelerate analysis and documentation.

Expected deliverables

• End-to-end technical Data Lineage.

• Mapping of sources, transformations and target systems.

• Documented ETL/ELT flows and dependencies.

• Structured technical metadata.

• Identification of documentation gaps and technical dependencies.

• Technical documentation supporting O2 architecture and migration.

Required profile

Ideally 5 to 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, BI, ETL or technical Data Analysis.

The candidate should have:

• Strong ETL/ELT and Data Lineage experience.

• Strong SQL and database knowledge, particularly Oracle.

• Ability to analyse complex legacy data flows.

• Experience with technical documentation and metadata.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to interact with technical teams in an international environment.

• Good professional English.

Objective of the assignment

Accelerate the reconstruction and documentation of technical Data Lineage for O2 and provide a reliable view of existing data flows and dependencies to support ODS V2 implementation and legacy transformation.
