Context
The Handover to Run Specialist supports the defense sector in the controlled transfer of changes, releases, and new or modified services to the operational run organization. The focus is on operational readiness, completeness of run deliverables, alignment between project/change and run, and ensuring a controlled production deployment once a change has been implemented.
The role contributes to ensuring that changes enter the run environment in a controlled and sustainable manner.
Missions
- Structure and guide handovers of changes, releases, and other change initiatives to the run organization.
- Ensure that all necessary run deliverables are available, complete, and usable.
- Coordinate with project managers, service delivery managers, service owners, and other stakeholders regarding readiness and transfer.
- Support go/no-go decisions from a run perspective.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and gaps in the handover process.
- Help ensure that new or changed services are brought into operation in a controlled manner.
- Contribute to a uniform approach for handover to run within the hybrid Service Integrator.
- Ensure clear documentation, transfer agreements, and operational anchoring.
