About the Company
Established in 2017, Infinite Orbits is a NewSpace company, based in Toulouse, pushing the boundaries of in-orbit services with cutting-edge spacecraft driven by its own Rendez-Vous solution, an advanced Autonomous Vision-Based Navigation Solution. IO has two generations of missions
"Orbit Guard" provides Inspection and Space Situational Awareness services in GEO. Our first, OG-1 was launched on 1 May 2023, the second is launching in 2025 and the third third launching in 2026.
"Endurance" is a docking service capable of extending the life of GEO telecom satellites, by taking over AOCS takeover for 5 years.
As part of setting up a new embedded space software development workshop, we are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer specialized in space applications.
Their main mission will be to develop a first representative embedded software, intended to run on a real onboard computer, by applying the methods, tools, and development, test, and validation rules defined in the new workshop.
This first piece of software will notably involve implementing the PUS 1 - Telecommand Verification Service and PUS 17 - Test Service services, in line with the requirements and profiles applicable to the project.
The candidate must therefore be able to develop functional software quickly, while working from the outset within a framework compatible with ECSS and ISO 9001 practices, as well as the quality rules defined by the company.
Job Description
- Development:
- Analyze the interfaces and constraints of the available onboard computer.
- Define the necessary software architecture.
- Implement the PUS 1 and PUS 17 services.
- Develop functions in C and/or Rust, according to the architecture and rules defined by the workshop.
- Develop test tools and scripts in Python.
- Integrate the software onto the target computer.
- Carry out the first functional tests on the actual hardware.
- Quickly diagnose and fix issues encountered.
- Working within the new workshop: The candidate will be one of the first operational users of the innovative development workshop.
- Good knowledge of the CCSDS / ECSS Packet Utilization Standard (PUS) ecosystem is important for this role.
- Hands-on experience with PUS 1 and/or PUS 17 would obviously be a major advantage.
- Validation on real equipment and simulation
- AI and accelerated development: however, the software produced must remain fully under the engineer's control.
